* Nerikawa Rawhide is immersed in Nikawasui(water in which animal glue is melted), and then taken out when it becomes soft. Several sheets are piled and beaten with wooden hummer thoroughly. Consequently they get flatter and adhere. After drying this in the shade, cut in desirable size and produce Samurai armor. Nerikawa was used not only Samurai armor, but also shields and shells. This armor has a thick layer of leather, and is made strongly.
* Size Compared to common Edo period Samurai Armor, it is much larger. The maximum overall height when displayed is 167 cm. When standing up, it would be well over 180 cm. It is very powerful and is a great decoration. It tells that this Armor is tailored for a big Samurai Lord.
* Condition Excellent condition.
* Kiwamegaki (Researcher's certificate) A copy of Dr.Yoshihiko Sasama's certificate is included. "Excellent Nerikawa finish, prime lacquer finish, and also finish of lining is high-class. Overall it is elegant and exquisite. Judging from the family crest, it is unknown who wore this, but Daimyo had this. In addition, it is impossible for a lower-class Daimyo to produce this as it is so much elaborate." - Doctor of Literature Yoshihiko Sasama , June 9, 1978 -
